I absolutely agree. I’m transmasculine, gay, and was partnered before I came out as trans; my partner loves me and we have no problems. I wouldn’t have EXPECTED anyone to love my currently dickless body if they identified as male and gay, but you know what? Some people actually DO get past these things and just LOVE THE PERSON.
