Thank you for this. I am not using a wheelchair now, but I had to for a few years; I was "able to walk" but because I had constant dizzy spells and was weak from chronic fatigue, I was in a chair (powered scooter actually) for quite some time (and would be again if I had to return to commuting). But people would freak out if I ever got up and walked across a room or whatever, like they thought I was faking it. Frankly, it's the same if I use a cane to help with my balance; if I put it down or something, they're like "did you really need that?"
