Thanks for writing this. While my personal opinion (of course, as a white person) is that it's not "weird" to get the day off - i.e., a Federal holiday being treated as a Federal holiday - I think it's weird to TAKE the day off (as I'm seeing some white people doing) if they don't. As an example, my company doesn't give all the Federal holidays off, and this is one of the ones we don't get. But we get 3 floating holidays and I've been seeing white people in my company choosing to take Juneteenth as one of theirs. To me, THAT feels weird.
What I'd like to see is Juneteenth being made a MUCH bigger deal of (since people still seem ignorant of its history and significance) so that white people would find it harder to ignore or not care about.
